Torun is a city in northern Poland, on the Vistula River. The medieval old town of Toruń is the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus. It was inscribed onto the World Heritage List of UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1997. Torun is one of the few Polish cities which were not destroyed in World War II. Neo-renaissance building from the end of the 19th century built at the place of an earlier gothic Hall of Artus and two neighbouring tenement houses. It used to be the seat of the brotherhood of Saint George, gathering rich patricians of the city. Since 1995 the building is the seat of "The Hall of Artus" Culture Centre and the Chamber Orchestra of Toruń. There is a shop with the famous Toruń gingerbread cakes on the ground floor.

Built in the first half of the 14th century. It was built up around 1420. It was adapted to housing needs in the 19th century. It is one of three still preserved town gates and one of the eight gates which guarded the entrance to the Old Town in the Middle Ages.

Built in the middle of the 14th century. It lead to the waterside of the Vistula river, to the port. During the 18th century it housed a prison; in the 19th century it was designated for housing.
