Sunday July 5 – Urnes Stave Church, Jostedal Glacier, Geirgangerfjord Ferry, Trollstevegen and Alesund Breakfast the next morning was a local food tasting feast. Geirangerfjord

The Orne - Eagles Road

We left Geirangerfjord via the Orne. Steep switchbacks took us to the top of the road lookout over the Fjord and the ferry to Linge.

Towards Trollstevegen

It is true - everywhere you look there is a beautiful view that includes either mountains, water, snow or all three.

Situated in a mountain pass - at an elevation of around 850 metres - between the towns of Valldal and Åndalsnes in Western Norway

This is a 'top to bottom' shot. Look carefully for the zig zag road that we are following down the pass. It has an incline of nine percent and 11 tight hairpin bends winding down the steep mountainside

The bridges and road require serious engineering to manage the raging torrent of water that pours down beside the road
