Day 45, 09.05.19. Thursday.
As the weather forecast predicted it's raining a lot and should rain all day and tomorrow as well as in the morning at saturday. From monday I'll see some nice weather and it should start getting warmer again after the polar low-pressure system hit parts of western and moved towards eastern and southern Norway a couple weeks ago. It got down to 6 below again and the nights have been very frosty, daytime has been snowy, haily and rainy.
Met a guy a couple days ago when I was walking to scout out a new place to camp out. Needed a new place not so close to the road and a more secluded one, just three days ago I was walking towards my camp and noticed there was a car standing still on the road with the lights on not far from my camp, I walked towards it and was about to walk past it when it drove off a couple hundred meters and stopped again. I decided that I wouldn't go directly to my camp and just continued towards the car, when I was about to see the driver's face it took off with

Yes! That's bullet-holes! Locals tend to use roadsigns as targets around here, have no idea why... high speed, could hear it a long time. So I moved my camp the next day.
Got a very good spot now, no parasites so far and not a single person being able to spot it until they are almost on top of it. Not so windy and a lot of warmth when the sun shows up. Approxmately from 08:30am till 09:00pm.
Back again to this awesome guy I met, I suspected that he was a scrapper since he had so many things on his property, and since I needed a compass I thought to myself to check out if someone was home, he was. I said hello on a distance and waited for a response, he was occupied with seperating different kinds of metal and components when I arrived. He didn't seem so surprised by me being there, he stopped and looked at me a couple seconds and then continued with what he was doing. So I took a few steps closer and asked if he maybe had an old compass lying around that I could buy from him. He didn't, but he told me he was going to get one for himself the next day so he offered to buy one for me as well, I accepted. He seemed like a man that was very confident in the way he acted around me, I made sure not to stand right behind him as we moved around because some people can be very edgy about that, and the more I talked with him the more I noticed alpha-traits with him.
He looked me straight in the eyes when he spoke to me, and even though he was a bit lower than me he was by no means affected by the difference in height. He didn't look at me nervously and also didn't come off as being dominant, but self-confident in everything he did. After I told him about my trip and that I was in need of moving my camp to this area he asked me to check out an area that wasn't more than 1 km from his place.
And that's how I found the new spot I'm currently occupying.
But that wasn't all, he gave me a basket full of eggs from his henhouse and even some fruits and vegetables he had to spare. I got the compass for free as well the next day, at first I refused and wanted to pay at least what it was worth, was also interested in paying his expenses for fuel. But he insisted and told me that everything he gave me was his contribution to my quest to see the world and to find someone to start a family with. What a guy!
We talked for a couple hours the first day and 3-4 the next. The next day he suggested that I could sleep in one of the sheds on his property if it got too wet or cold, charge my laptop and also grab some food from the fridge, even when he wasn't around. I was amazed! I've never experienced such hospitality and with no shred of doubt in his mind when he offered it. He had only known me for a day! :D
Turns out he's dyslectic, even with that disadvantage he has such an enormous practical knowledge, surprisingly competent guy, really intelligent. He talked a lot, and abrupted me quite a lot, but so do I when I have something that I burn to tell others 😊 I don't mind as long as I learn something new, and he has a lot of concrete and relevant general knowledge. He listened when I spoke as well, so we developed a good dynamic in our philosophy.
Apropo philosophy, today is the fourth or fifth day before my friend gets here, I'm going to be thrilled when he arrives.
