Sept. 9

We were exhausted because we had absolutely no sleep last night. We went to Haarlem on a train and stayed there for the night

Sept. 10

We took a bus to Zandvoort which is a beach town where the beaches run for miles and mile along the west coast of Ireland. We walked for miles and miles on the beach and accidently walked across a nude beach. We were a little shocked. The sand was really white and soft and there were seashells, I collected as many as I could. We walked to a lighthouse and then went back to Amsterdam. We did the coffee shop thing one and ended up playing monopoly all night

This is a little FYI and for myself!

- Holland had the tallest people in the world. I can't even see in the mirrors because they are too high
- The whole country is under sea-level so they have built canals going through the whole country and most of them are connected therefore you can get anywhere by canal. (airport is 3.5meters under sea-level)
- nearly everyone has a bicycle and there are crowds and crowds of people biking

Me eating a garlic cheese sandwich that I just bought at the cheese factory, standing by a goat.
and when they ring there bells that means "get out of there way" or as one lady told David, "Are you f&$@!£$ deaf, get the hell out of the way."
- there are 400 coffee shops in Holland, only 9% of the dutch smoke marijuana or do mushrooms.
- no new coffee shop liscences can be issued
- not allowed to grow marijuanna
- not allowed to have anything pertaining to drugs in the name of the shop (that is why they name them coffee shops)
- no displays of drugs or menus are allowed to be displayed in the shop.

Sept. 11

We went outside of the city to see the windmills and a cheese factory. We then went on a canal cruise within Amsterdam and seen most of the canals in the city. We were going to go on a free walking tour but couldn't find it so we were a little grouchy and started randomly walking and some dude came up to us and asked us if we wanted to go on the a free tour. We were like yyyyeeeessss. And the guy was even from Saskatoon. He did a really good job. He showed us where Ann Frank was hidden and where Remembrand drew one of his pictures and where a scene from Ocean's Twelve was filmed. Very Informative.
