Day 13

The drive to Amsterdam took about 4 hours. We parked the car outside the city and took the
metro to the central station. Our hotel is on a boat and the walk there
was great. We walked over bridges, saw a heron and passed a floating
Chinese restaurant covered in lights! The room is teeny tiny and sorta
wet but what do you expect, it's a boat! It's really sweet and totally
fun and the man and wife who run it are wonderful.

After getting our sea legs we decided to venture back to land for
some dinner. We ate Greek food and Marleah found a new kitten best
friend, then we wandered the cute cute streets having tons of house
crushes and pretending which ones we would live in. We also walked
around the red light district, which is totally surreal and strange.
Very Las Vegas in a way and much more touristy than expected. Kinda
spring breakish. We love this city and are fantasizing about living
here.

Day 14

After breakfast we shopped at the Waterlooplein flea market. John bought a
super duper cool Swedish surplus coat. Then we sat at a cafe next to the
water and drank a million beers in the afternoon sunlight listening to a
band play sad music. It was dreamy. The next couple hours was spent
walking from bench to bench throughout the city and snuggling while we
watched the boats go by. Pretty idyllic.

One wonderful Italian feast later, it's time for our last night on the boat.
