Geo: 52.3738, 4.89095 Amsterdam was another one of our favorite big cities- that and Munich. There's just soooo much to it. Yes, there's the drugs... the sex... ...and more drugs.... but there's a lot of neat history to it as well. This is where my rainbow of tulip fields SHOULD have been! The whole reason we came to the gardens.... except they all bloomed earlier than usual this year. Laaaaaaaaaaame.

When we were there, my dad had done the tour and filled us in that the property taxes are per foot of land it takes up, not square feet of space. so the buildings are super skinny but tall to cut costs. interesting most of all!

lol, yeah. The guide told us that they were taxed by the width of the building, not the height. So yeah, skinny and tall was a lot cheaper.
