Our hotel in Luxembourg, the Novotel, was located in the Kirchberg neighborhood. The Kirchberg Plateau is an area in northeast Luxembourg-Ville. Place d'Armes

Place d'Armes, Luxembourg. "The life of the town focuses in the Place d'Armes or Parade Platz, where a band often plays in the evening in sum mer. On its E. side is the Cercle, a municipal banqueting-hall".--Baedeker 1910.

Hämmelsmarsch

Hämmelsmarsch. The bronze sculpture and fountain by Wil Lofy represents the traditional Luxembourg mutton parade. "Hämmelsmarsch" means "mutton march". Installed in 1982. Roude Pëtz, Grand Rue. DSC_0551

Pasarelle

Le Pasarelle, also known as the Luxembourg Viaduct. The vehicular bridge was built in 1859-1861 to connect the Haute Ville with the Plateau Bourbon. It is 290 m long, with 24 arches. "...the Viaduct, which was constructed in 1861 and is 1150 ft. long".--Baedeker 1910. DSC_0570p1

Plateau Bourbon

View across the Petrusse Valley to the Quartier Gare on the Plateau Bourbon. The building is the Banque et Caisse d'Epargne de l'Etat (Spuerkeess) built in 1913. DSC_0568p1

Philharmonie Luxembourg
