Riga Old Town

When we arrived in Riga it was Lativian Independence Day (the 1990 one) and we took in a parade in old town. There was also a festival on the river.

The next couple of days were spent exploring the old town.

We started this travel blog in 2005 when we set off on a ten-month around-the-world trip with a couple of backpacks and not much else. In 2008, we emigrated to New Zealand with four suitcases and a guitar and spent the first month travelling throughout the country, from Auckland to Christchurch, via a roundabout route.
