Due to the powercuts through the night and first thing this morning, the room wasn't quite as warm as we would have liked. When we did get up I glanced out of the window and saw that it had been snowing.

Walking into town was rather nice because it was gently snowing and it was beautifully crisp. The snow was on the rooftops etc but there wasn't much on the ground so it was easy to walk around. We walked around the town and nosied around the outside of the UN buildings. We knew that the UN ran Kosovo but I didn't expect so much of a presence, their headquarters dominate the centre. Around the outside of the fence there are paintings that children have done which were really sweet. Weirdly, Kosovo appears to be obsessed with America and in particular, Bill Clinton.

We climbed to the top a prominent building and had a look around. We couldn't really figure out what it was, most of it looked disused apart from a tiny part that was used as an American school. From the top of the building we could see a stadium which was pretty large but looked immensely

rundown. We walked down to the stadium and then around that general area. It was pretty grim and walking around was pretty difficult due to the amount of litter on the path and road.

We walked back through the centre and down a busy side road with plenty of shops etc on. When we reached the end of the road we realised we were pretty near the bus station so we walked there. On the fields surrounding the station there are thousands of birds all lined up. It looks something like a scene from The Birds.

Back in the centre we decided that we should grab something to eat and opted for one of the cafes opposite the UN headquarters. It wasn't particularly eventful but we ate and watched buses arrive to take all the workers home for the day.

It started snowing heavier on our walk back to the guesthouse and we both decided that it would be lovely to stay in and cook food. We stopped off at the supermarket and bought some Veg and a bottle of ridiculously cheap Kosovan wine. We put the food on and watched the England vs. Austria friendly whilst cooking. I had another immensely disappointing cold shower and then we settled down to watch TV, read and just relax in our room. Again this probably sounds like such a dull evening but we loved it. Night night. stob
