According the the article, sports play and important role in Italy and is even practiced professionally. Italy's main sports that are popular currently are soccer, cycling, tennis, basketball, and auto racing. The sports they play are similar to American's popular sports. Italy also practices winter sports with some Italians excelling in their ski and luge skills. While these are the main sports that are well know in Italy some other sports are played as well: Motorcycle racing, Cricket, Volleyball, Golf, Roller Hockey, Water sports, Equestrian sports, Baseball and American Football. Again, these sports are not new to Americans, for we have a majority of these sports played in the U.S.

Analysis:

I found it nice to know that Italy is not all about pizza and cannolis. Sports play a big role in Italy just as sports play a big role in America. Visiting Italy will be more easier knowing that an American can relate to the culture in sports that Italy values. Of course, American culture seems to dedicate more of their attention to sports, Italians can be the same way as well. For countries that are on different continents, each country's culture have definitely influenced each others. Italy gave us pizza, so, in return, we introduced them to some good ol' American football.
