Question: What role do women play in this society? Do they have equality? If not, what discrimination do women in this country face?

In Italy women didn't have equality. Women are known as property toward their husbands. Husbands had the right to punish their wives in anyway, and that includes killing them. These women had nothing for themselves. Meaning that they didn't officially own anything.

Women weren't allow to vote. They were the ones who ran the households and taught their kid. Depending on their fit in society, they helped run their husband's work place. Most important role was the chance of making children.
