In ancient Rome women sat in a separate secluded area of the Flavian Amphitheatre (or the Coliseum). They even had their own entrance. Our guide explained that this was due to the fact that during the time people did not control themselves and that it was not safe. What I am sure he meant is that the men couldn't control themselves. It seems that in 2,000 years not much has changed.

Walking the streets of Rome is quite interesting with the men barking at you and making disgusting gestures. Aside from that, Rome is pretty amazing.

We have been here for a few days and have seen some spectacular sites. I thought of my bro a lot because I know that he would really enjoy seeing sites like the theater where Caesar was stabbed (or rather the square that was build above it), or the forum ruins of what used to be the center of Rome. It is amazing to see so much history in front of you and how some of the sites so well preserved. Im sure when I return I will help everyone gain a little more knowledge with little history lessons accompanied by pictures. 😊

Romans are actually not all perverts. Most Romans say Prego whenever they get the chance. Im thinking of starting a trend when I return home. I hope it catches on.

We stayed in a really great hostel with interesting folks from all over. Dinner was made for us every night by the workers of the hostel, all of whom became our buddies.

Tonight we are taking an overnight train to Milan before we are off to Greece! We are super excited about relaxing on the beach for a few days as we have been walking around A LOT lately.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to bring anyone any statue of David boxers. Why are Italians so obsessed with marble penises? We may never know.

On that note...Chau!

PS...night life in Rome has been pretty spectacular! 😉

Kisses,

Tati
