We both took sabaticals in Sept. of 2002 and left the familiarity of home for 6 months of travel in Europe. We started by flying into Munich (only frequent flyer we could get) and immediately trained to Verona Italy. We visited Verona, Assisi and then to Montebaluna to visit Mary's cousin Favio Burrato and his family This was the start of 6 months of our lives that we will never forget. This experience changed the way we look at the world in general. Deciding to do this trip was THE BEST decision we have ever made. We stepped out of our very comfortable lives and by doing this it made us realize how great life is and how lucky and blessed we are.

View from our apartment in Sienna. We spent 2 weeks here trying to learn Italian in a classroom setting. Was a good idea but we wanted to be tourists not students.
