Maeve and I were at the pier by 6.30, just like the lady at the info centre said to. We were waiting for the Prince of Venice. Meave was getting a one way ticket and going on to Verona and I was just doing a day trip to Venice- because I can! The catamaran finally arrived and after passport checks and buying tickets we took off, 20 minutes we docked in Croatia and picked up more passengers then headed to Venice. It was about a 2 hour trip. As we came into Venice, we slowed down. After we docked at the ferry port, we had to wait for a man to come with the key for luggage storage, as Maeve had all her luggage with her. Half an hour later he came!! Where was this man- the only one to have a key to luggage storage? I assumed he should have been close by. We were quite annoyed, as this wasted our precious time. Finally ready to wander and get lost! The city hasn't changed in the last four years. We followed the signs to S.Marco. One and a half hours later we arrived, after stopping for lunch and

browsing all the shops with really good things made out of colorful Murano glass. Saint Marks square was busy with tourists feeding pigeons. The weather was hot, hot, but could have been worse. We walked to the Rialto Bridge and ate an ice-cream on the edge of the Grand Canal as we dangled our legs above the water. We caught a vaporetto back to the ferry port. I just made it in time, nearly missed the catamaran back to Piran!! I wonder how long Maeve had to wait to get her luggage back!! It was good to go back to Venice and wander around.
