at the canals
On Wed 22nd Oct, we went on a Eurostar train to Venice. It went very fast, about 170km/hr. Not as fast as the one from Rome to Florence - that went about 250 km/hr.
In Venice we walked to St Mark's Square. We saw billions of pigeons. If you stay still they stop on your arms- 2 got on my arm. We are staying at a place on the Grand Canal. There are lots of boats in Venice, and not one car!! There are gondolas, vaporettos(small ferries),water taxis and traghettos(cheap gondolas that just do short trips across the canals) A Gondola ride is 80 euro($200AUD) for 30 mins. I want to go on one, but Dad says they are too much. If you don't catch a ferry, you have to walk every where, and there are lots of little bridges over all the canals/rivers.
