A city of water. How can you not love it? The city of Venice is amazing. On Friday, we arrived at about noon and then went straight to Saint Marks Square. The weather on Friday was amazing. Blue skies, 70 degrees.........Like I said, amazing. Friday night we went for a walk just to get aquainted with the city, then we were all pretty much worn out so we just went to bed. Saturday morning we woke up bright and early for a day of Island jumping. First we went to Torcello to see some of the original churches of Venice. After Torcello, we went to the island of Murano. Murano is famous for glass blowing. After a few hours of walking through stores, watching the glass blowers, and some delicious pizza, we headed back to the hotel. The fog from the morning had never lifted and it was about 40 degrees, so most of us just wanted to go inside and warm up. Sunday, we spent most of the day with Emilio walking through some of the great museums in Venice. The weather cleared up for a couple of hours in the afternoon, so we decided to go up to the top of the belltower in Saint Mark's. The view was amazing. It was definitely worth the 6 euro. After the belltower, we headed back to the hotel to get our luggage and go to the train station for our 5 hour train ride home. It was a great relaxing weekend.
