Getting to Venice was supposed to be easy… but this time we got turned around in the subway station rather than above ground, and then had to deal with unbelievable crowds and signs pointing us the wrong way to check in at the airport! In the summer of 2011, we returned to Australia, with our home base in Broadbeach Waters, half way between Brisbane and Gold Coast. Our 3 year-old son, Alex, became a world traveler and enjoyed every minute of it. In the summer of 2007, we travelled to Europe and took a Mediterranean Cruise on the Celebrity Millennium. Unfortunately, the shops on the bridge were closed during our visits.

I'm not sure if the people were lining up for the gondola rides of if the gondolas were the ones lining up. In any case, starting at $270/ hr, someone was making a lot of money.

I'm fairly certain that these crocs (placed all over the city) were advertisements for the Biennale Arts Festival

My guess is that they didn't have permission to have this ceremony since they ran out with a priest/minister, had the ceremony, threw the rice and ran off into the alleyways - all within 2 - 3 minutes.
