Good morning everyone,

Well I've been in Fetre for a week already and I've got to say it's gone quickly. I've included some pictures of the house and the dogs, so you can get an idea of where I'm living. The house is beautiful, it is a converted barn and they kept the original woodwork in the roof which I love. The house is in the middle of a field and is surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains.

The only problem I've found so far is that being in the middle of nowhere I have to cycle everywhere. Getting into the centre of Feltre is easy as it's all downhill, but the way back is all uphill and I hate it (what I wouldn't do for a car right now)!

I started school this week and so far it's been easy for me as we're studying things I learnt before. I met a girl from Poland who speaks English which is good. Today there will arrive another English girl from London who will live next door with the mum's brother, so I'm excited to have someone to study and socialise with. Next weekend we are all going to Rome together as the mum and her boyfriend are taking part in a bicycle race.

The new family seem nice, the girl is 14 but looks 18 and the boy is 10, but doesn't speak a lot of English, so every afternoon he will have English lessons with me. The first night I arrived I was completely surprised at how different this family are from the one before. At dinner there is no fighting or arguing and they start their homework without me even having to ask! Sadly last year their dad died, so I think they are still trying to deal with this, but overall the children are very well behaved and the mum has been helpful and kind.

This weekend we have the mum, dad and sister of the mum's boyfriend staying with us and we all went out for dinner last night (I still don't understand how Italian people can eat spaghetti without a spoon)!

That about sums up this week, as spent most of it cycling around trying to get my bearings.

More next week,

Soph
