Siena
Siena Parade Happy Father's Day to all of our father's! We all wish you a wonderful day and we will do a toast to you at dinner tonight.
We left Cinque Terre yesterday and took the train to Lucca. In Lucca we rented bikes and rode on a 6 A.D. wall around the city. It is amazing that we are seeing such old history. The city was beautiful.
After we left Lucca we took the train back to Florence to catch the train to Siena. At the station we realized that the last train (in 15 minutes) was 1 3/4 hours. At 8:15 p.m. we decided to catch a taxi. I think that it was nice to get here straight to the hotel, dump our bags and look for food. Upon arriving in the Plazza we were going to get food. No luck. On our walk back to the hotel we saw a bar open. A nice lady, Kate, went and asked the bartender if we could have some food. He made us all a sandwhich. Of course, it was delicious.
Today we spent the day walking around Siena. Debe and Denise went to Mass at the Duomo. Teri Ann
Pisa
Denise in PISA and I went into this museum and walked up onto this wall. T.K., you would have been proud of us - it was soooo high up there.
Tonight we are heading to dinner - one of Rick Steve's eat like a local for cheap. That is our budget after the taxi ride.
Pictures will follow. I fogot my camera cord and it is 3 blocks away and 5 stories up to the room. I already ran back - very tiring. I have some great pictues looking down though.
Of course we will hear more from T.A. later - she is so good with the words and stories.
Love to all - Kim, Debe, Densie & Teri Ann
Debe here, I would like to say that the Siena Duomo cannot be described with mere words. Denise took Communion and this is something that she will remember forever!!!
Ciao
