Due to the geographic location by the Arno River and near the sea to developed its maritime power, Pisa was prosperous during the Roman time and left behind many great monuments. Perhaps the name of the Leaning Tower of Pisa probably too big for this small city, everyone just bee around The Piazza dei Miracoli and let the rest of the city unattended. Not many people realized that Galileo Galilei - the greatest scientists of all time was born in Pisa. And there are many quiet small alleys one could explore, especially around Piazza Giovan Battista Donati, or visit the grand Piazza dei Cavalieri. The main through fare of the old city is extend from the Ponte di Mezzo bridge from both side of the Arno River. many shops and cafe could be found on Corso Italian and Borgo Stretto.
