Today we head west to a Villa in South Tuscany for 3 days. On the way we stopped at the historical city of Perugia which just happened to be celebrating it’s 600th birthday. In this town you have to park down the hill and then take the many escalators up to the town centre which is full of many wonderful building. One of which is the Collegio Della Mercanzia E Del Cambio which a local merchant paid 500 gold florins to have many of the room covered in precious woods and painting, these are still fantastic today. We are now in the very small village of Bagno Vignoni (in the hills of Tuscany) staying in a 1900’s Villa. Tonight we are the only guests and the owner has left us the run of the house for the tonight and will be back tomorrow to serve breakfast. This property is about 5 minutes up the hill (dirt road) from the local village but is so quite you would think you are farther away. The view of the area is wonderful in the day but breathtaking at night.
