We had one weekend off during camp, and so a bunch of us counselors drove to a lake in the very northern part of Italy, with a fascinating history.

I was going to write some of it here, but I will just take the shortcut and give the link to the Wikipedia article if you want some background on this cool place.

One of the first things we saw was a really random convenience store that had things like tools, groceries, office supplies, fabric, knitting materials... I could go on. There was even a fish deli in the back... one of the most random places I have ever seen.

FYI: Things in Northern Italy are about 1/3 the cost of things in Switzerland. Thank goodness we never had to pay for stuff in Switzerland.

We made the rule that if we were going to go to Italy then we needed to eat pizza there.
