Well, I am home after a long and exciting month. The rest of camp was, as usual, crazy but fun. There were times I wanted to crawl into bed and sleep for a week, but more often than not, I shared the kids' energy and was really grateful for the time I had there.

After the first two weeks, that group of kids left, and a second group came. We called the first two weeks the "Italian session" because it consisted of mostly Italian kids, and the second two weeks was nicknamed the "German session." The German school system gets out in time for the second session, but not the first, so that is why there were so many more Germans and Swiss than there were the first session.

I learned from Italians how to most effectively enjoy pasta, as well as bread. From the Scandinavians, I learned the best way to eat breakfast - cheese and jam on bread together is quite great.

Anyway, I woke up this morning at 2:30 (after about 8 hours of sleep), before my brother and his friend Reid even went to bed. It is kind of cool to be awake when others are just going to sleep, but I suppose that will get old (and boring) after awhile.

I'm going to add some pictures from Backwards 80s Day. We had a backward schedule, and switched the last two numbers in 2008, making it 80s Day. Some of the kids dressed up as crazy as we did, but of course I can't put up their pictures on here.

If anyone is interested in seeing what camp was like, there are some videos on Youtube from this summer. One of the other counselors has professionally made movies, and he brought those skills to camp; it is awesome. 😊 Here are the links to the videos:

If you don't feel like watching all those videos (which I wouldn't blame you at all for) at least watch this one... it's amazing. It was made by a group of kids and the counselor who makes videos professionally, and the video was put on reverse, making everything they are doing be backwards.:
