Venice is....

Venice is lovely, even though getting there and the airport was not so great. I recall getting off the train and having that distinct smell at the station. It wasn't pleasant either, it lingered for sometime in my nasal cavities, quite memorable haha. The station was a bit run down and the signs were not that easy to follow. The conductors moved like phantoms, you would see them for a moment and then gone the next. Things changed though once we walked out from the station.

It was a beautiful day, not too cold and sunny. There was a new gelato shop that was simply amazing. We walked for hours and hours walking through small narrow alleys that took me back in time. It was a great day for a gondola ride, the waters were calm and traffic was surprisingly heavy on the river in some sections of the water ways.



We enjoyed a coffee and later in the evening headed to a nice restaurant for dinner. There was live music, the sun was setting, the dinner was delicious and dessert was spectacular. The ambiance was just splendid, it really increased the level of the dinner. - Vishal Kawatra
