We left Switzerland with its stunning views at 12pm (after a refreshing swim in the campsite pool) to head for Italy for the relaxing leg of our holiday. Arrived at Camping Orta (on Lake Orta) just before 6pm after a longer drive than we had anticipated via the Susten Pass. By 7pm we were set up (bikes off rack; motorbike out of garage; awning out and portabote assembled) and heading to the onsite bar. Back to the van (after some considerable wine consumption) at 8.30pm for home made meatballs, yum 😊.
Camping Orta is a great site and our pitch directly on the edge of the lake. Really looking forward to swimming, fishing and boating later today; and to walking into the village of San Guilio to explore.
