Milan
Twister night! I have not left Milan in what feels like forever. It hasn't been all bad. There are a lot of people who have stayed in town. I took my midterms the middle of April and I am constantly thinking how every day gets closer and closer to when I leave. My friends and I talk about it every day. I am going to be so sad to leave all the friends I have made behind. Sure there are some that are soo close, but others don't live in the same continent let alone the same country. So let me catch up a little bit. So a weekend after midterm break Brittany, a friend from Arizona, went home and she brought back Twister and stuff to make smores. So we did an American night where we played Twister and beerpong and ate smores. It was great. I felt like I was back home for a night. My parents arrived the beginning of the month after visiting Venice and Corfu. We went to Venice for a few days. I got to see my friend Joe who is studying there for the semester. They spent one day visiting Alex in Torino and the next

Kelly and Brittany making smores! thing I knew they had left to go home. 😞 I have been laying out on the roof of our apartment building/hotel every day that it is sunny. The weather is getting really nice. It has been sunny and in the 70s. It's perfect. I can't imagine how much hotter it will be by the time I leave. It's going to be unbearable. One weekend I went to a 50th birthday party of the mother of a girl who studied abroad in Anchorage. She did cheerleading with me and was best friends with Alex. They had this huge party for her birthday. They are a really wealthy family so there were hor d'oeuvres and champagne and wine all night. It was the classiest party I have ever been to. It was very strange how Italians dress as if they are going to a funeral no matter where they go. They were all wearing dark clothing. Alex and I were the only ones wearing light colors. It was a real Italian experience. It has become tradition for everyone to go to this pub on Monday nights where they have half off beer and then Wednesdays we go this club called Old

At the club Old Fashion! Me and the Wisconsin girls and Luke! Fashion. They have special nights where it is cheap for International students to go so everyone always goes to the same clubs which is what makes it fun. The clubs in Milan are nothing like I have seen anywhere else. Anchorage and Madison don't have clubs so it is a whole different experience. I love it though. Just recently my roommate, Sarah, from Madison came to visit me before she went home. She studied abroad in Barcelona all semester and she came to Milan right after her semester was over. It is so strange to think that other exchange students are done and are going home. She came and we went to lake Como which was really fun. It is beautiful there! They have mountains and there was actually snow still on the tops of the mountains. George Clooney has a huge villa on the lake. It reminds me of Alaska a little. We spent the day in this little town Varenna and then took a ferry that went all the way down the river to the city of Como. From there we had dinner and then went back. It was so good to see her. Last weekend I went

Me and Alex at the 50th birthday party! to Rimini with a foreign exchange group. It is a little city on the sea. It has a 12 mile beach with really nice sand and clear water. We were told that we would stay in a hotel on the beach and have all of these amazing things that never happened. We stayed at a hostel that had cockroaches and had horrible food, but we made the best of it. It was so nice being on the beach and we actually got to go into the water. There were crabs everywhere and you would put your foot down and they would pinch your feet. We were freaking out and in the midst of the crabs we started to see jellyfish everywhere which turned out not to be the stinging type, but it was the concept and we were screaming the entire time until we got out of the water. It was exhausting even though we could touch the bottom the entire time. We ended up taking 6 and half hours to get back to Milan because of the holiday traffic. All in all it was a fun trip and we met some really sweet Italians. We actually met a guy

Dancing away at Old Fashion! who will be working in Milwaukee for the next year so we told him all about Milwaukee and Wisconsin. We told him we would meet up with him either in Madison or Milwaukee while he is there. I am getting closer and closer to the end....ahhh
