Milan Church
This is the main church (Duomo) in Milan. Well, we finally arrived in Italy. Our first stop is Milan. Once we got to our hotel, the Westin Palace, we had a snooze and then ventured out for the evening. We went to the main square and walked around. Then we came across this gorgeous, impressive church. The name escapes me at this time, but by the photos, this place must be a main attraction. We spent a few hours there and then our tummys started to grumble. We found this cool restaurant in the main Duome area, where we sat outside. The food was fantastic.
We loved watching all the people mill around. There are some really beautiful people here...and some weird ones! Milan is a nice city given the time we were there, but its not very impressive. Its definitely an industrial city.
We left the next day via train for our journey to Venice. It's a 2 hour train ride. Beautiful countryside! Once we got to Venice, we could tell a big difference between Milan & Venice. Venice is absolutely gorgeous. We had never seen anything like it before. The narrow cobblestone alleys, the people!!! There is nothing but high end stores here, like Valentino,
Milan Duomo
Us inside the main shopping area near the Duomo. Gucci, Cartier. Yesterday, we spent all day walking around from 10 am to 10 pm. We took a ferry over to the island of Murano, where the specialty is the Murano glass. We bought a beautiful vase there.
Today, we were planning on going to Verona, but have changed our minds. We will stay here in Venice. It is too beautful to leave yet.....next stop Ravenna and the Tuscan countryside.
