The Mouth of Truth
The Italian name is Boccaccio Della Verita Today we went to the Mouth of Truth which is a big face made out of stone. The legend says that if you tell a lie and put your hand in its mouth then it will bite your hand off. If you are truthful then it won't bite you. I put my hand in the mouth of truth and it didn't bite my hand off! After that, we went to the building nicknamed The Wedding Cake. It is called that because it is huge and white and decorated with two horses and goddesses. It is really called Il Vittoriano in Italian and it was built to honour the first king of Italy. We went up to the top in the great glass elevator and we saw the Vatican, The Colosseum, The Forum and all over Rome. It was awesome.
