So for the past few days we have just been going to class in Rome for most of the day then heading back to Frascati for nightly dinner. Yesterday, we were craving Mexican food (in Italy, I know!) so we went on a long journey to find one of the few Mexican restaurants in Rome, we found it after an hour or two of walking. But, it was closed! So we just got Mcdonalds instead, haha. I did go to a mozzerella bar earlier that day that was delicious! In class we traveled to Piazza del Popolo with Santa Maria del Popolo in it. We also went to Piazza Francese, where the French embassy to Italy is located. Afterwards, we traveled down the Via Guilia and crossed the Tiber river into the Trastevere neighborhood. While there, we climbed to the top of the tallest hill in Rome where San Pietro Tempietto is, which translates into "little St. Peter's." The large basilica comes from this small church. Today, we went to Trastevere again, which is a really lovely area that still has the feel of the Middle Ages. We went to Santa Cecilia which is a beautiful church. Tomorrow, we are catching the 7:30 AM! train to Florence, and going to Venice on Saturday. Caio!!
