Trevi Fountain
It was really hard to take a good picture, its fairly large! So! What happened today? I woke up at 5:00 am cause I went to bed at 8pm and I couldn't get back to sleep. I think that is what you call jet leg. Now I'm really feeling it and I want to go to bed oh soo very bad but I'm trying to stay up so that I can get in synch with the Italian clocks. Our hot water tank wasn't on all yesterday and today and after some savage investigating I emailed the owners and didn't get a response last night or this morning so we all took some FREEZING cold showers, it really really was not a good time at all!! But when we got back from our day of adventures the hot water heater was turned on so now we are good to go :D!
So today, we went for a wee(and by wee I mean not wee) bit of a walk. We stopped at a little restaurant and had some sandwiches and cappucinos for lunch and I said gratzie :O! Haha its really hard to not speak english so u just get kinda shy and then I don't really talk at all haha. I mostly just
Spanish Steps
View from the Cathedral at the top of the Spanish Steps smile and point, makes u feel really stupid. So after that we walked past the collesium and the victor emmaneul monument to see the Trevi fountain, which was definetley a lot cooler than I thought it would be. It was even guarded, if you went too close the police blew their wistles at you :O!!! It was really pretty though! So then we moved on towards the spanish steps where there is this really cool cathedral at the top and I was totally blown away by it ( I didn't really get that many good pictures of the inside). But it was really pretty, and it overlooks a lot of rome, you could see all the cool roof tops and everything. While we were walking down the steps this guy spazed out and hit this lady and it was really strange but apparentley she was trying to steal from him so i guess that's pretty understandable. After that I was pretty cautious around everyone. It really hasn't been that crowded at all around here so I was never really worried but I started to keep a closer eye on my stuff after that. We walked by a bunch of cool
stores like Dior and Prada and Louis Vuitton and Armani and Burberry, and you know since I'm so loaded I bought them all out. Its so ridiculous, the stuff is supposed to be drasically reduced but its still outrageously expensive!
So after that we walked some more with no real direction, or maybe there was direction I was sort of just following. But we found this really cool palace along a really dirty river, called Palazzo di Guistizia. So we were admiring this lovely castle when we saw this very large domed building off in the distance, and after some map looking we realized we had walked all the way to Vatican City! We had decided this morning that we didn't have time for it today or the energy and didn't wanna do it, but we just happened to be there so in we went! (P.S. ryan wants me to write about this outdoor skating rink we saw...... wow, just kidding, it was pretty cool, and random!) this lady came up to us and told us about a tour we could take for 20 euro which we decided to do which may or may not have been a gigantic
rip off. She knew her stuff though and she told us some interesting stories so I guess it wasn't all that bad! So we got to go into the Vatican museum and look at some interesting religious art. We got to see the Sistine Chapel which was pretty intense, but u can't take pictures at all and the guards kept yelling at everyone to be quiet. So after that we went in the actual church and it was sooooooo insane! I thought the little cathedral at the top of the Spanish Steps was neat this blew it out of the water!! I could not have taken pictures of even half of the thing it was so huge! So while we were in there it started to rain pretty bad, I bought an umbrella which definetley came in handy! We wanted to go to the Pantheon, but we were all hungry and tired and wet so we found a restaurant and had some yummy yummy food. After that we were all really wet and really cold and pretty lost and eventually made it back to our appartment where there is now hot water!!!! So that was my second day in Rome!
Inside the Church
This does not even slightly show you how cool it looks inside! Ciao!
