ahhhhhhh! i am soooo hot right now. and sooo sunburned. my feet are falling off of my ankles and i am very tired. I've been walking around rome since 8:00 this morning. (its 5 right now). so what is that? like 9 hours walking around in the very hot sun. ouch. I dont even remember anything that davide and francesco told us. i couldnt concentrate on anything but the agonizing heat and tiredness. This morning we woke up and went to the Capitoline museum, the one with the marcus aurelius statue in the middle of the piazza. Then davide took us around the forum. lots and lots of old stuff i'm not interested in going into right now. The forum is a big place. i can only remember a little bit of this morning anyway. jeez. then we got a little break for lunch. keri sarah and i went to this little piazza and got some fruit from a stand and ate by the fountain. i got a peach and an apple. both were freaking delicious. Then it was time to go back to the collosseum for our tour w/ quinn and francesco. that's about the time i noticed how hot

or what remains of him.
and miserable it was. so a couple of girls got out umbrellas and i tried to stay in that shade as much as possible. The collosseum was pretty cool i guess. i took a lot of pictures, but i wont have them on here for another couple of days probably. so when we finished the collosseum i was already ready to go home, but we still had to go tour the palatine hill. holy crap. lots of stairs. open places with very little shade. terrific view. i tried to appreciate it, but i was a little dehydrated and sunburned. FINALLY we got to leave and we came here on our way home. Travelblog hasnt been working the past few days so i needed to update before it got to be too much stuff to write, and i would have given up completely. ah. yesterday sucked. i hate wednesdays. we have 4 hours of dante in the morning (which i really dont mind b/c quinn gives us breaks and i'm still have enough energy to be interested in it), but after that we had 4 hours of italian. no breaks and the woman would have gone on for another 4 hours if we hadnt decided to go. i was totally out of my mind by 6:00. yikes. and both of those classes are classroom classes so we just stay inside all day long from 9 til 6. seems like a waste of rome. b/c then by the time i get home i'm too tired to go do anything. we have to wake up early tomorrow and be at school at 7 b/c we're going to pompeii. i'll def. bring a jacket and sunscreen. on tuesday we went to the beach in ostia. it was so beautiful. it was cloudy at first and a little chilly, but there werent many people there. then we watched the sun set and it was amazing. i had so much fun. it was so relaxing. we all took so many pictures that our cameras' batteries all died. that morning emilio took us inside the capitoline museum. saw lots of old important art. blah blah blah. i really shouldnt be writing this right now b/c i'm skipping all the parts i probably should be writing, but since i wont get another chance.... so anyway my back hurts really bad. i just scratched it and that was a

mistake. ouch. i should cut off my fingernails til this sunburn goes away. well i think that's all the important stuff. i really started to miss being home a few days ago though. i'm glad mom called me the other day and to know she's doing alright. i told dad's "roman charges" joke and i don't think anyone appreciated it as much as it deserved. i think i probably have more to say but i'm too tired to think about it. oh i made this pasta sauce with leftover wine and mushrooms. it was so delicious. mm. ok i'm gonna see if i can put my pics on here.

Thinking of you....
Hey Laura: I've been reading your travel blog(s). It has been very interesting. I like hearing about all the things you've seen and done, and other experiences, like the day you said that you were so hot and tired, you couldn't remember what the guy said. Blah, blah, blah. Too funny. Sounds like we need to send you some sun screen. :) Just wanted to write and let you know that we're thinking of you, and that we're very proud of you - going off to Rome for further education. I would be too chicken. God bless you and look after you. Love, Aunt JoAnn (and the rest of the Kraus clan) Uncle Mike, Miranda and little Kaitlin all say "Hi."
