Relaxing on the train
After all that rushing around we so needed to relax We got up early in the morning and packed again! We so need to remember not to unpack all our things at the next stop!!
Max dropped us off at the train station where we took the metro into the city. we had to then take another metro to get to the main train station for the outward bound trains. Rushing so we made our train on time, with our heavy bags, we had to go down millions of stairs, only to discover we were on the wrong platform, so back up the millions of stairs and down the next set of stairs, panting, terrified that we were going to miss our train, exhausted we eventually boarded the metro that would take us to the main station. Keeran was dead on her feet...she could barely manage and we still had to find our train that was taking us to Rimini!! After asking many people we finally got on the train with a few minutes to spare and the girls completely out of breath (especially my baby Keeran) And Krisel my sweetheart, not saying anything, just grabbing her bags and her sister's and rushing into the train. This was when I broke
Italian Countyside
the beautiful Italian countryside as seen from the train down!! What was I thinking bringing my babies all the way to this freezing place dragging them around with these heavy bags!!!I just held them and kept repeating, 'I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry'. But my babies were too good. They just said that it was OK and that they were enjoying the trip, but it was plain to see that they were exhausted.
The 3hr train ride to Rimini helped us get our breath back and rest a bit & we also met this nice Italian girl on the train who was jumping off at the same stop as us, so we could relax a bit without stressing about keeping an eye out for our stop. But we were feeling a bit anxious about what our next hosts were going to be like.
Our hosts in Rimini were Mario and Barbara Benzi. They lived in a little village an hour from the train station, but lucky for us they were at Mario's parents home in the city when we arrived and so were able to pick us up from the train station. We loved the Benzis as soon as we met them and their two lovely kids. Before
Pizza again
Pizza at the train staion while we waited for the Benzis to pick us up going to their home they took us on a tour of the town of Rimini. The quaint little town was beautiful. All the houses looked like they were built for Snow white and her dwarfs. We loved it. We later arrived at the Benzi's beautiful home where we had our own rooms and internet yay!!!The girls had a darling little loft room. Dinner was diiiviinne as all we ate since our arrival in Italy was takeout pizza, The Benzis were wonderful and we felt right at home here.
Keeran's edit: In our mad rush for the trains my sister lost her new Nokia music Xpress cellphone. She was very sad but mom said don't be sad, we'll just buy another one. I felt so sorry for my sister.
