Greg: We entered Bologna not knowing a whole lot about its history, other than it was the home of Spag' Bol' and it had claimed the oldest university in the world.

We also didn't have accommodation sorted upon entering the city, but thankfully after a walk round the Bologna train station we located some free wireless and had an email come through confirming we had a bed for the night via AirBnB. We marched down the streets and checked in with our hosts, got a dinner recommendation and went out to explore for the night. We learnt that Bologna is a huge student town, and upon taking up the dinner recommendation for my birthday night we had one of the best meals to date (as of 6 June anyway) while remaining super cheap - off to a good start!

The next day we wandered around seeing city sights (including also one of the best gelato's to date - doing well by this point) and visited the old Bologna University complete with wooden anatomical theatre - this place had amazing history (all 925 years of it!). Going against our rule of frequenting the same place twice, we revisited Osteria dell'Orsa a second night for dinner and had another great dinner - while meeting our first kiwi on the road. To top things off we hunted down a local craft beer bar, and stopped in for a couple of pints which were very tasty and the perfect end to another night in the student city.

Our last day is one I will remember for a while, as we bussed out to Saint Agata Bolognese (near Modena) to visit the home of Lamborghini. After a walk around the car museum we checked out a cafe across the road "test drive", which had a white Gallardo and a sleek black Aventador parked out front. After salivating over these machines for a while Kim casually asked which car i liked better as she was shouting me a drive, given it was my 25th Birthday around that time. What followed was a fast paced introduction to driving on the opposite side of the road, down back streets with 700hp under my foot - this thing was fast. My co-pilot (and owner of the car) had me do a few overtakes and some straight line runs at speeds which would make my mother cry -
once i figure out how to do some video editing on the road i will chuck up a video.

After so much adrenaline we forgot about the time and had to do a full sprint to catch the bus back to Bologna, after which we picked up bags and trained on to Pescara that afternoon.

Continuing to remain a definite shade of green when reading of your latest experiences. Thanks for telling me about the Lamborghini drive AFTER you had done it! Please exercise the same discretion when you do the Running Away From the Bulls!
