So Pompei! It was quite a ride away from Rome, but definately worth it. It was the last day of my spring break and a lot of walking. My feet were dying
Some history:
If you didn't know, Pompei suffered serious earthquake in 62 AD, putting most of the city in ruins. In 79 AD, when Mt. Vesuvius erupted, burying the town in ash and rock, repairs to the city still had not been finished. Exploration did not begin unti 1748, finding the city still in ruins. The city is still being excavated today.
