Now, your left or my left?

Wow, today was interesting. Long story short, we climbed a volcano (yes, we took it upon ourselves to exercise) and visited Pompei. Mt. Vesuvius was amazing! It was quite a hike. Just as in Athens, it started raining. From the ship the weather seemed to be alright, so there we were standing at the bottom of the volcano in shorts and tank tops shivering. Luckily (as we found in well, ALL of the ports), there was someone nearby waiting to sell us Italia jackets.
From Vesuvio we went to the Pompei excavation site. HUGE place. We had an interesting tour guide to say the least. He had a different type of "tour" in mind for us though. He told us to meet him at a certain destination and to turn "left" to meet him and the rest of our tour group. Lesson learned in Italy "Left actually means RIGHT!" We lost our entire tour company! We ran up and down the streets of Pompeii (most likely around 2.5 miles or so) trying to find him and our ride back to Naples where our boat was at. Again with the exercise. Sweet Maria. After running for nearly an hour or so, we stumbled upon him. Wow, if looks could kill. Angie tried to tell him what happened, but instead yelled over her in Italian. Not sure, but I have a feeling it was not something nice. The only English he said to us when we walked up was "You two ladies..." then some more Italian.... Oops. 😊
After the day of exercise (again, ewww) we decided to spend some free time in Naples (Napoli). We bartered with a street vendor for luggage, since we needed more to get everything home. Afterwards, we sat at a pizzeria, outside and enjoyed some Margarita Pizza. WOW! Fabulouso!
Tomorrow home...so sad to leave the ship and the friends we have made here, but excited to be in a place where we don't have to pay (tip) to use a bathroom. 😊 Looking forward to seeing you all!
