Car Travel Day. Thankfully the car has air conditioning. The peak temperature fort today was 33 degrees. Most of our travel was on main auto routes. We passed through several prime agricultural areas. The boot of Italy is very flat. Many fields of fruit trees, market growing, etc. We are now into a hilly region. Finding the hotel was a bit of a challenge. Compared to north america there are many small streets and no definite patterns. The GPS works well on the major roads but it is sometimes difficult to find smaller streets. This is complicated by the fact that the convention for naming streets is quite different so it is difficult sometimes to know what to enter as a street name. In today's case the actual street name was one word but the address on the hotel booking is 4 words and the GPS did not recognize all the words. After asking directions a couple of times we eventually arrived at the hotel. Tomorrow we get down to the bottom of Italy where we take the ferry to Sicily.
