A brief look at part of Hyde ParkA brief look at part of Hyde ParkA brief look at part of Hyde Park

Yeah taken from the bus just before we got dropped off. It was a huge park and being spring looked very pretty
Well its been a few days and we still really arent that settled. Although I do have to say that we have spent a good number of days sorting through job sites and applying for a lot of them, getting a few replys which have led to a few interviews in fact Leexa is off on one at the moment (more later).
We spent the first 2 nights at Nirelles but she has a very small room and what floor space she did have was taken up by myself and Leeza, so while being absolutely gratefull to Nirelle for putting us up we thought she might like her room back. We moved to another friend of mine from Auckland, Cerian, who had moved over here in November last year and is sharing a house with old school friends of hers. There was a lot more space and a living room. So while I was being the nice sister I gave Leeza the spare bed in the spare room and I had the rather wide and comfortable couch in the living room. We spent about 4 nights there. The friday night we went to town to join Cerian and her friend Wendy

Very impressive building but not sure I would want to live there
Jo after they finished work and had dinner in a really cute little italian restrauant in Leicester Square (It even had the red and white checkered table cloths) It was a really enjoyable meal. We walked through Soho meaning to pop into a bar but for some reason we didnt but we did end up walking down the K Rd of Soho...proved interesting.... We met another friend of Cerians, Camille, whos mother happened to grow up in good old Oamaru and her grandparents still lives there, my its a small world!!!.
Saturday started off with a big sleep in and we were off for a walk through Hyde Park to Buckingham Palace which seemed to be very popular and it should be...very impressive. We wandered on through James park and came accross Deckchairs for hire can you believe it?? A photo was taken none the less and you can get season tickets to lounge on deckchairs in the park....
Westminster Abbey and the parliament house and Big Ben were even more impressive than Buckingham Palace, very intricate architecture!! (when I work out how to put photos on I will show you)
There was a long large protest (mainly signs) outside

Well I think its her. She doesnt look that great as a statue and I thought the cloud over top looked ominous as if shes not happy...
parliament and aparently so Ive been told a dude has been sitting there and never left the protest for four years protesting the war against Iraq and whatever else Blair in with Bush on. hes got some staying power thats for sure!!!
Sunday was a trip to the markets and my gosh it required some will power not to go shopping although i did falter a little and bought a really cool wallet!!! The clothes were amazing and cheap and I loved them and the shoes...........well say no more. I was good but have vowed to go back before to come back to NZ!!!!
Monday the day we left London for Dublin. Not the biggest fan of Dublin itself but we stayed the night there and caught the bus through to galway. Now Galway is a very pretty city (especially SHOP STREET very cool shopping also and we're staying in a backpackers on it...) and a few towns and things we passed through are very pretty and I could so live in any of them ....
And Dad all the fences on the farms around Galway are all stome walls and look really cool.
That brings me up to sitting
A sign......A sign......A sign......

Rather imusing sign....see next pick
here typing. Oh and Leeza has gone to check out a job 20 minutes out of Galway. She got picked up at the bus station. And believe it or not it is a NANNYING job looking after a 13 week/month old baby and being a general mothers help. I cant really imagine leeza being a nanny but good on her.
She should be back soon and can tell me all about it.
We are heading to Cork tomorrow via Limerick which should be a neat little drive.
Will fill you all in on those details another time when they have actually happened!! 8)

Otherwise known as Picadilly Square. This statue was full of people and Leeza was climbing in bare feet while some dude started tickling her feet. It was amusing... The coke sign at the back of pik (on the top) actually shows all the really old ads from the 50's and 60's
