The Wild Atlantic Way - Ireland

The Wild Atlantic Way stretches along the west coast of Ireland all the way from the most northerly point of this mystical land in County Donegal all the way down to the southerly tip of County Kerry and Mizen head. To travel is breath taking and unforgettable in equal measures. The landscape is rugged, wind swept and shaped by the constant trashing of the Atlantic ocean as it crashes up against it. It is a haven of natural untouched beauty, unspoiled landscapes and fresh salty sea air.

It is best travelled by hiring a car - as you can venture off the main routes and delve into the many hidden treasures in the narrow back roads of rural Ireland. In no time you will lose yourself in a rich history and folklore.

Currently we are passing through the incredible and remote landscape of Connemara in County Galway. This has been one of the highlights as we make our down to the Shannon and then on towards the world famous Cliffs of Moher. Connemara is home to a barren wilderness. An untamed countryside of stone walls, sheep and the jewel in the crown - the Connemara Pony. We were lucky enough to get the chance to get up close and personal with a pair of this wonderful creatures today. Their beauty and calmness just warms the heart. 😊
