this last week i spent in scotland with the fam hanging out with aunties and uncles that i haven't seen for almost 12 years
i spent a day in Edinburgh with uncle derek and eaddie which was humorous as according to him i knew how to get to the shuttle bus better than he and i had been to edinburgh once....he lives there obviously
so we get on the shuttle bus and eaddie mentions to derek that the bus driver is polish
which is apparently the worst thing u can be in scotland as according to the locals they come over to work for cheap
that or a gypsie
ps who still uses the word gypsy?
scots, thats who
and more frequent than could be considered humorous...
anywho so uncle derek now thinks that the bus driver is polish...and so we go to get off the bus and uncle derek turns around and says in sign language/slow english
do....u....know...when....the....bus....comes....home?
as eaddie runs off the bus laughing pulling me along with her
as i know now the bus driver was not polish
but actually had a thick scottish brogue
eaddie likes to make uncle derek look stupid though
and it worked
and it was hillarious to watch uncle dereks face when the driver spoke to him
in edinburgh we visited greyfriars bobby and the museum of childrens toys...it was humorous and funny to watch derek and eaddie reminisce as i had no idea that dolls were one such ugly creatures...
seriously like who the frig wants a doll made out of wax....it probably gets all greasy when u touch it too much
ewww

then on monday i went to glencoe with archie and liz which was really incredible to see, it was absolutely gorgeous and draped in history. plus parts of harry potter had been filmed there!
archie was my moms fiancee before she met my dad, hes pretty funny and know like everything there is to know about scotland, plus is an avid traveller so we had much to discuss as he had just returned from an 18 country road trip
jealousy
the trip up to glencoe is about 3 hours in the car but its filled with the amazing scenery so u can't really tell but on the way home we listened to like 3 hours straight of billy connolly and it was hilarious.
ii had only heard bits and pieces all throughout of his glaswegian humor
but to hear it when ur in the place its centered around is something completely different
cause u kind of understand it more, as its mostly true. and highly funny.

anywho, the next day i spent with aunt lizzie in Hamilton where we went to hamilton academy and harassed the secretary for info on my grandma
cause she went to that school, but unfortunately all glorious photos were lost in a supposed fire and thus we had to settle for a tour of the school
which was really pretty
but we looked like total crackheads taking pictures like tourists
then we went shopping, cause thats what girls do and headed home. where i was reprimanded for missing supper, but it was the bus's fault...
after dinner we went over to cousin douggie and pearls house for drinks
which was hillarious
there house is like a zoo, they have 2 birds, 2 ferrets, and a pig dog that is sooooo cute and sweet
and which they love undeniably as they have taken it to a professional photographer for a photo shoot....
its super sweet, the pics are up all over the house.
anywho so we all had a good night and a good couple of drinks there and discussed which of my cousins we all secretly think is gay although its not really a secret as everyone talks about it except with him?
terrible gossips
then the next day i was with aunt lizzie again and we went into glasgow for the day with little cousin Kaitlyn who was determined to go to build a bear. and so we did.
the night before when we had been at her house she literally spent an hour showing me all the outfits and gadgets she has for her build a bears so this was just an extension of my exciting introduction into the cash hole that is build a bear.
so she got a polar bear and named him emma. then emma needed a leash and collar and two paris of boots because she walks on four legs and a skirt and a tee shirt anddd a bed.
like seriously.
then her other bears would be jealous if we didnt get them new outfits so two other pairs of boots, two skirts, two tees, a microphone and new passport for emma the polar bear later....and 160$ later we got to go to the big people stores.
but only for a few minutes as we were hungry and wanted chinese foods....
thats one thing i will say about scotland is that they loovvvve them some buffets.
seriously, the whole country is full of them, indian, chinese, traditional, kebab, all buffets, and all equipped with beer to finish off your bought of indigestion.
oh well, when in rome.
that night i went down to uncle grahams house to say goodbye to the kids until i come back in december
where they presented me with a pile of personally hand drawn finger paintings of star wars characters for me...
it was cute
but im to give one to aunty janis so that she doesnt get jealous
then i made them pose for pictures all night, because they like it, and they were playing star wars with there light sabers which was beyond cute especially when they decided to put there little underwear on there heads as helmets. u cant help but love them.
and yeah then i got on a plane and came to ireland
which was nerve racking as my plane was almost an hour late leaving andddd i kind of hate short flights as there is possibly more room for error as maybe the pilots aren't paying that much attention to things u know...
anywho, thats my paranoid control freak side breaking through
but alls well in ireland, i feel its a cute little place here in dublin
minus the rain
but meh. thats what brollies are for.
anywho im gonna watch an hour of english speaking tv for the first time in a while before bed and get up and ready to explore dublin castle tomorrow
as long as my roommates dont snore
which i have a feeling they may do
miss u lots
much love
k
