G'day Ireland

I arrived in Ireland on Sunday June 8.

Arriving in Cork Airport at 10am after a 4 hour 'connection' in London heathrow, I was amazed at the difference. Cork Airport is a very small Airport with a terminal building that should be at a large airport.....hence you get through in minutes, no crowds, no hassle. Makes Heathrow look like a zoo.

I met my mate John who has been in Ireland for 3 years and he drove me to Crosshaven where he lives right now. We went directly to a pub in the middle of the village called cronins .

We mwt up with some Welsh people, some Grermans and of course some very entertaining locals. John seemed to know them all.

Nice to see a genuine Irish pub, nothing like the ones that litter Oz. Maybe an old traditional Irish pub has it's walls covered in Guinness signs and signposts but not Cronins. the atmosphere was not like an OZzy Irish pub either. It was great, authentic!

Crosshaven is a village that is obviously in love with their boats!!! Yachts in particular. They are everywhere!
We might plan to come back here in afew weeks for their yachting festival...... (it is supposed to be crawling with sexy ladies who don't say no.)
It's called Cork Week , I don't know why it's not called Crosshaven Week but I'm guessing Cork is the nearest big town and airport so it's easier to market that way.
It's on in July when we plan to be in Northern Ireland but these people say it is well worth the journey!!!!!!!

Well John has has just one week left in his job so I'm hanging around Cork/Crosshaven for the week. Then we begin our tour!!! His girlefriend (who is Irish) will meet us in Dublin but other than that it's just us and the Irish ladies!

Timing is bad..... A big festival starts in Cork on June 15 the day we leave...but I think we'll get back to Crosshaven for the yachting lady-fest
