Walking...
On our way up to the top. Budapest has been AMAZING. It is everything I expected plus more. I´ll start at the beginning...
We arrived in Budapest (with everyones luggage excet Mike´s) early Friday morning and took two taxies to our hostel, or so we thought. The taxi drivers kinda just dropped us off in front of this building and took our 4000 hufflepuffs or whatever currency those Hungarians use (okay, they use Fornets, but we liked calling them huffs). So, we walk into this building that looks nothing like a hostel and try to find someone that speaks English. Yeah, that doesn´t happen. About an hour later this lady says that she will take us to a meeting place and then another guy will come and take us to where we need to go. Karin is in some market so she says she will take half of us to the other guy and he will show us our room and then he will drive back and pick the rest of us. We have no idea who this lady is and just trust that she isin´t going to kill us. Anyway, Mike, Bob, and Ryan T. leave with this lady. A few minutes later Karin comes back

This is on top of Mt. Buda and we decide not to wait for the random car, and try to find the rest of the group. We end up on some run down street that is under construction and reeks of gas. Deciding to take a left, we try and call Bob. My cell phone doesn´t work. What the hell are we going to do? We are lost in Budapest without a phone and half of our group is as good as dead, almost. Just when we have given up hope, Bob, Mike, and Ryan T. walk out of this building just to the right of us. They said that the guy who meet them, Xavier, the owner of the hostel we were going to stay at, hooked us up with this sweet apartment instead of the hostel. Let me tell you this apartment kicked ass. We had one large bedroom with beds for all six of us, a living room with a pull-out, computer with internet, and cable tv, a dining room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. It was so cool. Since, we had not had a lot of sleep, we all took a long nap. When we woke up, we headed to the supermarket to

At the top. buy some food and some beer. Everything was so cheap. We pre-partied in the apartment while we got ready to head out. The shower I had was amazing. It had been the first shower in a month where I didn´t have to turn it off in between washing my hair and soaping up and rinsing. Righteous. The hot water didn´t run out either and I was a super happy. So, we headed out to a bar called Frank Zappa and I bet you can guess what happened until we went to bed.
The next day we woke up early (11am) and decided to go for a walk in Buda (the other side of the river). We got over there and found this awesome cave that had been turned into a church. After that we started to hike Mt. Buda. 30 minutes later and only have way up the mountain we came upon an awesome slide park. You heard me right, a slide park. I haven´t been down a real slide since I was a little kid. As you can imagine we all dropped our stuff and ran up the slope to the top of the slide and re-lived a

We are on our way to the bars. few moments or our childhood. So 5 minutes later we started to head back up the mountain. It was totally worth is. At the top was this awesome village and these awesome statues. It was so cool to see the Budapest from such a view. You could see everything, it was beautiful. I really can´t put it down in words. We were going to go into a WWII museum but it was cold and we wanted to head back to the apartment. We stayed up at the top for a little bit and some guy told us about how all the bridges that connect Buda to Pest were blown up during the war but that some people believe it never happened. At the apartment we all got ready to go out. On our way out we meet come crazy British people and followed them to a bar/disco. It was so much fun. So much fun in fact, that Captain Planet decided to make a visit to our apartment and break a bed (after assaulting someone on the street), fall down a million times on the hard wood floor, wrestle everyone, and pass out after 15 seconds of Harry Potter. Good
A Street in Pest
This is the street that our apartment was on. times, good times.
The next day was really fun as well, but I don´t feel like writing a book (aka I don´t remember exactly what we did, but I know we did a lot, and that it was fun)
Our last day, we went to the Hungarian Baths. These things are like centuries old. It was crazy to walk into place use something that has survived so much. The steam rooms are split into guys and girls, so Mike, Ryan T., and I (Mike was at the Communist Statue Park...) opened the door into this tiled room that had 2 huge pools. You start out in the 36·C pool and hang out there for a while and then you move into the 38·C one. After that you go into the freezing cold pool (8·C) and then into a 50·C steam room. It was a trip. After about three rotations we could hardly move we were so relaxed. We slowly made our way back to the apratment and got ready to fly to Amsterdam. I don´t think we had any idea what we were about to get ourselves into.
