What does one do when the political system of your country collapses all around you and you are stuck with immovable statues of your formerly venerated leaders? Make a park, that's what. Statue park is about 30 minutes outside of Budapest. The statues are pretty cool and sort of ironic now that Hungary has a thriving democracy and market economy. The park itself is sort of useless and cheap. Not even a picnic table. All I wanted to do was eat a sandwich in the shade of a 20 foot statue of V.I Lenin, but no dice.
