23 September 2014 We drove the last few miles to the rugged end of the peninsular at Cape Terrano and I walked the last bit along a ridge to a light house which is the southernmost point of mainland Greece.
It was then back up the east coast through mist covered bare mountains along terrifyingly narrow and twisting roads and past more tower villages. It seemed as though they would never end. But eventually they did, the land became flatter and more fertile and we returned to the port of Gythio. This ended our memorable four day wild camping expedition to the unique geology and architecture of the Mani.
Tomorrow we leave for Crete.
