Woke up around 10:20, apparently Josh didnt remember to set his alarm as we were supposed to leave at 10:30. We managed to scramble our stuff together and make our way outside to catch a bus for our tour around the island. Because we stayed with our particular youth hostel we recieved a discount on boat tours around the island so we decided it would be a good way to see Santorini for a day. Went we reached the boat it started raining quite hard and the weather was looking pretty shitty. Everyone hid inside the boat for a while until the rain seemed to clear up a bit just as we reached our first destination. For the first stop we were able to explore the actual eruption spot on santorini which was essentially a small island of jagged lava rocks. It was pretty cool but for some odd reason they charged us an extra two euro to even get on to the island which was a bit crap. It also seemed pretty touristy and generic as a bunch of other tours had arrived as well and everyone walked around on designated paths. After the volcano we cruised to some hot springs a little further and were informed that we had to jump off the boat and swim to them. It was pretty sweet diving off the boat and making our way to the brownish thermal waters coming from the volcano. The waters were not incredibly warm but it was still a pretty sweet experience. After this we cruised for another hour or two to a small village (cant remember the name?). We had two hours here to check it out and grab some food. It was quite a walk up the steeping traversing path and many people hitched a ride on the donkeys they had waiting there for that purpose. Donkeys cost money though so we all just decided to walk it. The top was a pretty nice little village with amazing views although it seemed somewhat abandon, maybe because it wasnt prime tourist season? Took some nice pics and headed back down to eat some grilled kalamari. After this our last stop was the town of Oia which is renown for its amazing sunsets. They dropped us off around 4:30 with four hours until sunset. We check the town out a bit with its amazing little paths winding

Cool doorway I found when exploring the small village we visited
through the houses and restaurants. It was incredibly picturesque but I couldnt help feeling like it was completely and sadly devoted to throngs of tourists that swarmed the place especially during the peak summer months. Regardless the place was beautiful beyond words and I grabbed quite a few good pictures. My bro, josh, Jake and I plus a few girls jumped on a hotel roof for the sunset which was pretty amazing. It was somewhat blocked by a cloud layer near the horizon because the day was a bit humid but was a sight to see none the less. After the sunset we took a bus back and everyone crashed after a long exhausting day.
