Harbour, Chania

Crete, Greece

Those who did not take a stroll to the port of Chania, have never experienced the magic of Crete! Anyone who did not raise his eyes to the Lighthouse, or didn’t enjoy the blue of the sea, has not felt what real beauty is! Both the Harbour and the lighthouse are built in Venetian style. It was constructed in 1356 and had a capacity of «forty galleys!» Chania’s harbour bustles with life, since it is one of the most beautiful and busy areas of the city. Visit the Big Yard and then let yourself take a stroll through the old town. The narrow paved streets that start from the Port will lead you there. If you get tired of walking, take a stop anywhere; enjoy a coffee, a meal or a drink overlooking the deep blue sea! The Port will never seize amazing you if you decide to pay a visit. Venetian buildings and the Mosque, give it a cosmopolitan colour and remind the visitor that when the cultures of the people meet, the place becomes particularly colourful and interesting!
