Class at the Parthenon

right now I am sitting on the roof of a café doing homework and sitting in the sun 😊 it’s not that warm tho, but it’s still pretty nice… but yea, this morning we had class for a couple hours at the hotel and then went to the Parthenon for the rest of class… that was pretty sweet, except for all of the reconstruction of it cuz there was scaffolding everywhere, so it wasn’t as neat as it could have been, but it was still pretty cool. Since the Parthenon is on the acropolis which is so high up, it was an awesome view from there… I think I’m gonna try and put up pictures later tonight if I have time… but yea, we spent pretty much the whole morning there and then we just went to a bakery for lunch and now a couple of us are sitting at a café. But yea, yesterday it was kinda crappy weather… it was raining so we didn’t do too much… we went to the place where Paul gave his sermon on the mount, so that was pretty cool cuz it’s like a huge part of the Christian faith… and on the side of the small mountain, paul’s sermon was carved into it (in Greek obviously, so I couldn’t read any of it, but it was still pretty cool). Then we just kinda had the rest of the day to do whatever… a few of us went to a little café for lunch and then walked around a part of town called the Plaka… it’s the part of town that just has a lot of cute shops and little bakeries… and it’s only like a 5 min walk from the hotel, which is nice… so that’s where I am right now too… so yesterday we just kinda walked around there and then went to small grocery store… really small… but yea, then we went back to the hotel and did some homework… me and couple friends read the play(Oedipus the king) that we have to read for tomorrow, outloud, so that was kinda fun… and then we had dinner, which some of it was kinda American… chicken and French fries… but then there was this really weird (and not so good) appetizer that was green beans with some weird sauce on it… kinda like tomato sauce or bbq… so that was a little weird… then we all just kinda hung out and did homework and drank the wine that we had all bought during the day… and then today has just kinda been class stuff @ the Parthenon and then in like an hour we have greek language lessons, which will be really nice so I can at least say something in greek 😊
Oh something else that was kinda cool…there was an earthquake that was 30 miles south of Athens! I didn’t feel it though cuz I was on the ground floor of the hotel which is made of marble, which is a good absorber, but there were some people who were upstairs and they said they felt it.. only for a couple seconds though cuz it wasn’t that big of one and it was pretty far away… but yea, that was kinda neat, as long as we don’t have any big ones when we are here!
