This morning we boarded the local train for a 7 minute ride into Koblenz.
Koblenz is at the junction of the Rhine and Mossel rivers.
The city has been influenced by various cultures dating back to the Romans.
Walking the streets demonstrated the various architectural periods.
The St. Kastor Cathedral is a very impressive.
Along the waterfront one could see the assortment of river cruise boats.
We took the gondola to the fortress across the river. The structure is in good condition and people were setting up for medieval enactments later in the week.
