Today was one of those really fun days in Europe when everything is closed!!! Did a day trip to Bonn, less than an hour by train. Bonn well known for being the birthplace of Beethoven. The centre of town consisted of pedestrian only streets, making easy for me to look at the old buildings in the city squares without having to worry about traffic. Due to it being Monday, there wasn't much to do, so I went to see Beethoven's house/museum. It was an old house. Inside I saw musical instruments, letters, music and paintings. There was also his last grand piano, which wasn't that grand in size at all. Saw his huge ear trumpets that he used to help him when he was becoming deaf and the books that he wrote in to communicate when he eventually became deaf. The last thing I saw was his plaster death mask, which was made two days after he died- weird.

Went inside the basilica- not very impressive. Continued to wander around and then caught the train back to Dusseldorf.
