After a lazy morning Vince & Alison came over so we decided to go for a walk with Tonz around this lovely lake near place. It was very pretty around the lake and you can see why it is a good spot to go walking or jogging. There were a couple of fantastic playgrounds so of course we had to get in amongst it! After this we continued on past the new gym/health spa and then Tonz asked if we wanted to see some deer. Of course we said Yes so we headed off through some bush in search of them. At first it was quite easy going and then we came into this beautiful clearing that was circled by really tall trees. From here the going got tougher and we were walking through some interesting scrub - which included stinging nettles! Sometimes the scrub was so tall I could barely see over it. Tonz says "keep an eye out for deer" and I was laughing saying "I can't see a thing over these bushes!". Anyway, we didn't see deer ? and it got even more interesting when we realised we were walking through people's backyards! Tonz was trying to find
a way out when he came across a backyard he recognised. So, we had all had enough of the adventure by now so we decided to follow him out, even though we didn't know if the lady was home or out. Tonz knew the lady that lived there so it wouldn't be a problem but she wasn't home anyway. Problem was, the neighbour was home what and is new to the neighborhood - she called out to ask what we were doing! Tonz explained why we were sneaking through the backyard and all was good. When we came out the front of her house, we were directly across the road from Tonz's place!
We had a bit of a laugh about it and Susi couldn't believe that Tonz had taken us through that way! All a bit of fun - until Alison discovered a tic! And then another....... and then another ...... and before you know if she had found 5 baby tics! That gave us even more ammo to stir Tonz about!
That afternoon Tonz, Susi and I went to the shops to buy food for dinner tonight, our last night together. Susi's brother and his girlfriend
had arrived back from their long weekend in Vienna so there would be 11 of us for dinner tonight. We bought bratwurst sausages which Tonz would cook with garlic and onion. We also bought prawns which we cooked with wine, olive oil, garlic and added to a spaghetti dish that also had pesto stirred through. We bought items to make a big garden salad and I also used a mango to make a mango salad. We had cheeses, olives, prosciutto, salami, peppers filled with feta and lots of other delicious anti-pasta items.
We set the tables up downstairs outside and everyone bought along their own plates, glasses and cutlrey. Tonight we drank a cava that Wolfgang bought along, two Henkell Trocken (one white and one rosé) and a bottle of Riesling (Rhine riesling of course!).
It was such a lovely evening surrounded by family. Evi was in fine form, entertaining everyone by just being her adorable self. I fed her a little bit of mango, which she loved. I tried feeding her a cornichon, which she wasn't so happy about haha. I will miss this little munchkin!
After dinner Julian took Vince & Alison back to their
hotel and Wolfgang and his girlfriend came upstairs to Tonz & Susi's for a coffee. We had a really good chat and it was nice to see him again and to meet his girlfriend. Eventually it was time to say goodnight!
