YAY im here! hahahahahahahahaha

so its been a couple of weeks that i have now been in germany and i can tell you that all is well and good!
the flight was... man its a bloody long way here, kinda forgot that bit, and when i arrived in Frankfurt i was glad to be off a plane, but thats to be expected, it was pretty much on time, and was comfy enough, so all good! when i got off the plane we were walking up the gangway to the corridor bit, and as we hit the gangway i saw a sign for a synagogue... it said synagogue, then an arrow pointing left, i thought that was a bit of a strange thing to see first thing off a plane... but meh, all i found was the way to customs! yay, all good there, then got my bag, and walked out into the public area wondering and hoping that Nadine is there, you never know, my luck with airport pickups havent been the best in the past, lol, so i was a little apprehensive, lol, and there were heaps of people there! then this beautiful dreaded (the hair was dreaded) girl stepped out from behind someone with a gorgeous smile and said something, i have no idea what, it was noisy and i hadnt slept on the plane.. so i was a little dreamy at that point but the smile was there! and i hugged her good and proper! hehe, yay for hugs! and so all was good, i was here, Nadine turned up, we were happy, and now we had to find the car... which is... oh dear, then i get asked which way to go... lol, then she realised where we were going, and found our way to the car again, i think we worked out later that both of us were a little bit not quite there, now that all this was actually happening! lol, so the trip to her parents place was great, yay for AUTOBAHNS! i get to drive on one this week! brilliant! so with a quick half hour drive "home" i was at the front door to her home, and her parents came out to meet me, and thankfully they havent forgotten any of their english, and they speak australian english anyway so communication was easy! i get along really well with her parents, (well i think i do, im just assuming they like me... )
(might have a nother paragraph now ey? :P )
So that first day was pretty cool, i had a much needed shower and some brekky then after some chitter chatter went out for a bike ride with Nadine around the suI actually like it here, there arent 3 thousand people trying to squeeze onto a train, you can look out at the street and wait a couple of minutes before seeing a car, so my getting runover chances were greatly minimised by the small town place i was in, and yay, we ended up riding up to some tower thing at the highest point in dietzenbach which looks over the whole town, and its really pretty, next time i'll remember my camera, so i can show you! 😊 the view from the tower is awesome, you can see a couple of other towns around the place and then in the distance you can see the skyscapers of frankfurt! and frankfurt airport, so many planes coming in to land, yay for the view! We then rode back down to Nadine's house via a bank to get me set up with a bank account, which i now have! yay, then back "home" for dinner, a wonderful german bier, and then a good nights sleep, i had then been awake about 46-50 hours or so, wonderful! lol, idiot ben.
at some point during that first day i agreed to go on a bike ride the next day to the next town which is "only 12km" away.... it was a beautidul day for the bike ride, but we worked out that the return journey, that took us a cople of hours, was 40km. so 20km there and 20 back again, what punishment to a poor unfit jetlagged man! it nearly killed me, and it was really quite warm too, i wont say hot, cos it wasnt over 30 degrees, but definitly warm i think about 26 or so, the ride was spectacular though, through some forests and farming fields, till we got to this town, and when we got there, it was to get some really good ice cream, the ice cream was good, but it nearly cost me my life, thank god this area is flat, otherwise i would of called a cab, hahaha. the town was really nice though, it had an old monastry thing that we walked through and saw the herb garden and old buidlings etc, the river the town was on was really pretty too! yay for little town. After the killer ride back to Dietzenbach and some dinner it was rover night, so i went out to meet Nadines crew, the 3 of the, its a small crew but really nice, prob was i had been riding all day, and was really jetlagged, so after abot half an our of being there, (we were having a bbq night at the crew leaders place) i kinda fell asleep in my chair, hahaha, kinda embarrassing, cos i didnt know if it was rude or not, but i mean asleep like out like a light, not this snoozing type sleep, i fell asleep, then time just skiped by, lol, so when i woke up due to not being to comfy, we went home and more sleep for ben!the Wednesday we got up and met one of nadines other friends thats a local in the area, and we went to a skate park and played around there, was ages since i had been to a skate park, lol, and i managed to not kill myself, thankfully! but the weather turned so we went back to the friends house so nads could get some music off him, and what do you know, i fell asleep on the couch there, hahaha, the jetlag was killing me, but i wasnt going to admit it, i just looked like a permanantlly out of it i think, though tryiong my best not to be so druggy, lol, that night, it was off to remenisce being 15 again and off to the local park for a party, this was really strange, cos we met Martin, the friend from the skatepark, at the local store about 7, cos we were going to some local bar that has jam sessions on a wednesday night, and this bar/club thingy, is directly underneath the local police station... yep a little strange that one, but better yet, it was shut, which wasnt good, but it meant some of the people that were going to the bar changed plans and were heading to a park instead, (it was some girls farewell thing or something) so we went to the shops, and bought some beer, and i mean cheap cheap cheap beer, euro cents it cost 35. so thats about 55c australian, it tastes like rubbush thoug, and i only had one, but i had it in front of the police station! the freakin idiots over here let you drink on the street any time of the day or night, so of course i have a picture of me now, standing in front of the cop shop, openly drinking a beer, no paper bags or anything over here, hahahaha, idiots.. anyway it was off to the park now, and when we got there there was about 6 or so of us, but by the time i fell asleep! (about 20 minutes,) there was like 20 people or so there, all drinking, and a guitar, singing songs and chatting and stuff, unfortunatly i got a little to tired to stay to long, and had to cut it early and go to bed, man im stupidly old, hahaha, i think i made it to 11 though! yay for ben, hahaha,
the next day was a lazy day, it had been a hard week and so a sleep in was in order, then in the afternoon a trip into franfurt to see the town and one of nadine's school friends who was working at a stall in a wine market thingy. to explain better, the week i arrived happened to be the local areas wine festival week, so the big manly corso type area of the city (without the beaches) was turned into giant wine stalls and food stalls from the local wine makers! It was here that i was to meet nadine's close school friends and spend a lazy afternoon sitting at a wine stall, on a sunny day, sipping local Reisling, and being looked at strangely by Nadine's german friends, speaking all in this funny foreign language, and thinking haha! this is brilliant, i have no idea what im doing, but whatever it is, its great! I think i started to get over my jetlag by this stage, and was comfortable with being here, i was happy with how Nadine and i are getting on, and we are getting on great! and sitting there with a glass of wine, and a bunch of people i didnt know, being scrutinised, didnt faze me a bit, cos i had what i wanted. 😊 Felling so stupidly warm and good i figured it was time nadine and i at least go on a date, lol, so we found a really nice italian restaurant, and had a proper date, which went well! lol, and with that formality out of the way, the next day it was off to Trier, to look for a flat together! hahaha, thigs move quick here, lol, The trip to Trier was great, and its a really nice city, and the flat, is really cool! we were going to look at 2, and we saw the first one, which is underneath the main bridge in town, well just next to under the bridge, its not a big place, but for the time and price (man this is cheap, ) its quite good! so after looking at it,we went to town to have a look around to wait for the second one, and the second one was way out of town, and the chick who was going to show us messaged us like an hour before we were going to look at it asking if we cold come back the next day if possible, and left us a number to call if it was a problem, well it was, as it was a 2-2.5 hour drive from dietzenbach to trier, so fuck that.. after trying to call the two numbers she gave us and getting 2 wrong numbers, we thought, bugger it, lets get the first one, and when we called the bloke wwas happy we'd chosen, then when we met him to get the keys etc, he said that just after we called all 16 people or something that looked at the place had called, around the same time as us, but he liked us, whatever, i dont really care, we had a flat! argh, lol, i'll put up some photo's when i get there and take some later in the week, though im not sure when we'll have the internet up and running, so it may be next week before i'll be online in my own flat! hooray! 😊
so we came back to dietzenbach now with our own flat, and then of course i was tired, so it was sleep time! yay!
Saturday brought us some good news with a friend hearing we got a place saying that she had some furniture she doesnt want for whatever reason, so we got some free cupboard and draws, a table and a toaster and other small things that can be usefull. im going to have to start cooking and not do my usual thing of just buying takeaway... but the good news is, i like cooking! so it should be fun! yay. saturday night we went to this blokes 21st which was a good night, and i finally made it to after midnight, infact i did really well and made it to 3am ish, brillaint! haha, sunday was a non-event, except we were leaving for prague the next day, which is what i shall write about tomorrow!
for now, i think this has brought us up to date for life in germany,
this week is shopping at ikea for beds and other stuff, then moving on thursday! hooroay!

Love you all,

its good to be back!

Good to hear that you're enjoying it and that everything is working out. Do you mind if I start a petition for more paragraph breaks?

Trier
Make sure you head to the Mariensäule monument to view the city. Word has it that you'll get a great view! Oh and you better watch the German stage of the WRC while you're there.
